Where shall I begin...
The Cakery Bee was initially a challenge. For myself. I have been a cake lover since I was a little girl. I have indulged in so many kinds of cake from frosted, to naked, to fruit filled.

I made cakes for birthdays and holidays, but rarely at other times. The recent wave of home bakers and cake artists peaked my creative interest. I soon began watching tutorials and signing up for online classes to really get the hang of this cake swing. 

After identifying and tackling most beginner's issues with cake making, I realized I enjoyed and actually had a knack for making cakes. So fast forward a bright red kitchenaide, and a couple of hundred dollars worth of cake making supplies, and it is there you will find me.

Experimenting, and trying or failing at recipes.

Like a spelling bee challenge, The Cakery Bee is me challenging myself to knock out the most awesome cakes I've seen and fell in love with, of course adding my own little spin. I will tackle birthdays, holidays, novelty cakes, and seasonal creations. I have a lonnng way to go, before I can even think about considering myself a "cake artist". That's not the point of my journey.

I will strive to get there one cake at a time with dedication and lots of practice.  invite others on a similar journey in cake making, to join me and share their creations, recipes, success, and failures. Whether it's your first cake, or you are looking to get started and don't know where to begin, this can be your sounding board.
